Every memory you make with her is a priceless gift that will stay with both of you for life. It doesn’t have to take too much effort! Pick a weekend and plan to spend time with your girl. If you’re searching for some fun weekend activities, here are some ideas!
Mommy and Me Biking Date
Everyone loves a bike ride so you can’t go wrong here. Throw on those helmets and take a nice bike ride! Bicycling is such a fun way to experience the outdoors, get some endorphin-releasing sun on your skin, and get your body moving. No matter what mood you were in before, a bike ride always uplifts! Whether it’s a bike ride around the block, a relaxing ride by the ocean or a ride on a trail at your local park, you’ll both have so much fun in one of the simplest ways possible. Throw on some comfortable, colorful leggings and a cute tee, and hit the bike trails together! Make sure to apply sunscreen, and pack some healthy snacks + a water bottle.
Roller Skating Mom and Daughter Date
Moms, think back to when you were growing up and how much fun it was to go skating with your friends - especially when it was at your local roller skating rink. It was a liberating feeling to be gliding around on wheels, the wind in your hair, and listening to your favorite songs. Skating was all about making memories with your best friends. Now that your little girl is your best friend, why not share that experience with her? Make sure to take some photos together when you go! Have fun with your looks - coordinate your outfits with a theme or a matching look like matching printed leggings and custom-printed tees. If your daughter loves it enough, who knows, you might end up starting a tradition!
Mommy-Daughter Painting Day
If you have an artistic daughter who loves to express herself, consider taking her on a painting date! There are fun guided painting classes that provide a templated design and an instructor who shows everyone in attendance how to achieve that painting together. If your daughter is over 21, a paint-and-sip class might be fun for you both, too! These classes incorproate a little wine and spirits to enhance the ambiance. Painting together can be therapeutic and allows everyone to use their imagination and their creative abilities, enriching their right brain and improving their painting skills. Make sure you both wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting paint on, just in case!
Yoga or Dance Date
We all know the amazing benefits of yoga and dance by now; release of endorphins, enhanced flexibility, relief of stress, muscle builders, forms of super-fun cardio and much more. This is a bonding activity that is good for both of your minds and bodies. If you take your little girl to a yoga or dance class, you’ll also be showing her the importance of exercise and creative release as well as normalizing a very healthy activity. If you choose a dance class with a genre that you both love, you’ll have so much fun moving and grooving together. Throw on some cute, matching yoga leggings and sports bras, and enjoy some invigorating movement together!
Mommy-Daughter Karaoke
Singing is one of the most joyful things you can do. Whether one or both of you can sing like Adele or whether you sound like a dog howling when you try to hit a note, it doesn’t matter - Karaoke together is always fun! This activity is perfect for moms and daughters who love music and especially for moms who are teaching their daughters about the importance of confidence, personal freedom, self-care, and true creative expression. This activity helps guide your daughter to be more unapologetically herself and to take the pressure off when it comes to her expressing herself. Karaoke is a surefire way to make unforgettable memories with your little girl!
