Mother-Daughter Bucket Lists
Time flies and in the blink of an eye, your little one won’t be so little anymore. It can be hard to make time with all of life’s demands, but cherishing these fleeting moments is so important. Make the time to strengthen your bond with your daughter by making a bucket list! A bucket list is a list of activities you two want to do together in your lifetime. Stuck on what to do? We’ve got some great ideas.
Create a Signature Family Recipe
We’ve all grown up hearing about family recipes that have been around forever but have you ever thought about making your own? Bond with your daughter by creating a recipe together! Start the new tradition that she’ll be able to pass down to her daughter and even her granddaughter one day!
Make a Family Tree
Knowing your family history is an invaluable asset. It helps you understand yourself better on a physical, mental, and emotional level. Pass that on to your daughter in a fun, visual way. It can even be an art project for you two! The possibilities of how to map out your family tree are endless. Cut out photos and make a collage on a tree illustration; create a digital diagram on photoshop; create a 3d tree sculpture and pin photos using clothespins. Make it your own!
Take a Mother-Daughter Trip
Traveling with your loved ones - there’s nothing quite like it! Even just planning the trip will be a bonding experience for you both. You’ll each learn about the other’s dream vacation destinations as you choose where to go. You’ll find out what each other’s most important details are like maybe you’re excited about the excursions available and maybe your daughter will be more interested in what food will be like. Make it more of an event with matching mommy and me tees, customized with a phrase or your names on them. Coordinating outfits make for PERFECT photo ops as you go on your vacation together!
Do a Marathon Together
Nothing brings people together more than accomplishing something difficult together. Sign up for a local marathon, maybe one that donates to a charity that resonates with you both. Prior to the marathon, you’ll both want to train to be ready for it physically, which will give you both a goal to work towards together. Having each other also means built-in accountability partners so you can’t slack on your prep work! Then the day of will be a celebration of all your hard work! After the marathon, you’ll both end up feeling proud of yourselves and each other. You’ll have made memories together that will last you both a lifetime.
Do Karaoke
Let your inner performer out and do some karaoke with your daughter! If she’s under 21, karaoke at home with the family is always fun. If she’s of age, a night on the town will be a chance for you both to let your hair down and be free together! Choose your favorite song and perform a duet for a truly memorable experience.
Take a Class Together or Learn a Skill Together
There’s something about learning something together that really strengthens your bond with those shared the experience. Find a skill you both are interested in learning, like maybe scuba diving, surfing, horseback riding, archery, yoga, or dance, and start taking lessons. If you're hitting a dance or yoga class, make it even more of a girl’s day by rocking matching mother-daughter yoga leggings and sports bra so you feel like it’s a team activity between you two.
