When it’s time to jump on a zoom call, most of us groan a little knowing it’s going to be another monotonous meeting that should have been an email. We feel your pain! That’s that remote work life! But doing those zoom meetings day in and day out doesn’t have to be the same old all the time. Here are some fun things to wear on your next zoom call to jazz it up a bit and infuse some fun into an otherwise boring obligation.
Get Colorful
The dress code rules usually say professional - and professional doesn’t have to mean boring! Professional attire tends to be a lot of neutrals and darker colors. So zoom calls end up being a wall of boring, neutral squares with outfits that are just neat, but no real style. Add a pop of color with a brightly colored sweater, blazer, top, or dress! Some of the trending colors this season include fucshias, magentas, bright orange, amazon green, fire engine red, aquamarine teal, and bright yellow. Try wearing a white blazer with a fuchsia top, or a red sleeveless top and matching blazer - or a blazer with a another shade of red. A teal quarter-length sleeve top looks appropriate, feminine but adds a pop of trendy color and fun to you zoom meetings. If you’re having a meeting on a holiday or during a holiday season, get fun and festive! An ugly sweater on a Friday in December will be sure to get plenty of smiles from your team! Maybe even plan an ugly Christmas sweater party ahead of time - send out the email 2 weeks before then remind everyone a week out and then the Wednesday before - it’ll be like a little virtual holiday party! Same idea for any other holiday. If it’s Halloween, plan a costume party for your virtual meeting, if it’s Valentines Day, organize a themed look where everyone wears a pink top or a red blouse, (or black for the anti-valentine’s day-ers.)
Express Yourself With Printed Tees
Say it without saying it; get expressive with a custom printed tee! Obviously keep it appropriate, but you can have fun with things like printing your name on a tee shirt to make it memorable, or wearing a motivational phrase to uplift your colleagues. Things like “You Got This” or “Never Give Up.” It’s a great way to boost morale subtly while joining a zoom call and also exuding confidence and positivity.
