Back to School Style

by Rebecca Gold 26 Aug 2020

Starting school again is always exciting for kids, but after this long summer, this new school year will be extra special. After a months long hiatus, they’ll get to see their old friends again or, if they’re starting at a new school, they’ll get to look forward to making new friends! They’ll get to meet new teachers and have new experiences. For all these reasons, your kids will be wanting to look their absolute best. Get them back to school ready with some fresh new looks! Here are some great back to school style suggestions to get the new school year’s wardrobe started:

Jeans + a Cute Flouncy Top

Jeans + a Cute Flouncy Top

This look is a no-brainer, effortless and classy. No need to think too hard - jeans are timeless and seasonless. They’re useful (thank goodness for pockets,) appropriate for a non-uniformed school, and comfortable. Pair some comfortable jeans with a cute, feminine flouncy top with lace trim along the hemline or a fringe trim. It will give your little girl a reason to spin and enjoy a fun flare to a basic casual top. A flouncy, airy top will also be a comfy piece for her to wear as she gets used to carrying her backpack and books around the hallways again.

Fun Printed Leggings & a Solid Top

Who says you can’t rock a cool printed legging to school? Unless it’s against the school’s dress code, have her rock fun, vibrantly colored printed legging with prints like florals, chevron design, glitter designs, fruits, unicorns or whatever else your little girl loves! Then, balance out that splash of color with a solid, plain top like a loose white tee or a quarter length-sleeve top. Her fun designs will scream personality, charisma and confidence. She’ll get plenty of compliments and maybe even some potential new friends!

Light, Breezy Shift Dress

Light, Breezy Shift Dress

Keep it simple, classy and effortless. The Shift dress is another classic piece that is versatile. Sure, it might seem like more of a dressy choice that fits better for family reunions and special events; but throw on some sneakers with a shift dress and tie a sweater around your waist and you’ve got a cute casual day outfit. If it’s a solid color shift dress like white, black, grey or navy, pair with a plaid button up shirt tied around the waist and some sperry’s or sneakers. If you opt for a floral or boho, vibrantly printed shift dress, tie a solid colored sweater or long sleeved shirt around your waist and pair with some solid white sneakers.

Custom Printed Tee + Leggings or Jeans

A bold move for the first day that will also make a statement is a custom printed tee. Get a printed tee that says something clever, funny, or relatable on it. Anything from a printed unicorn tee that says “shine brighter” to “don’t hide your magic,” a printed tee with a fun phrase will show off a personality in the perfect way for the first day back at school. Another option? Have a custom printed tee with a phrase that gets her a little name recognition. For example, we can almost guarantee that if your little girl is rocking a tee that says “I can’t keep calm I’m Brittany!” the teacher will definitely learn her name for roll call earlier than everyone else! She might even start making some new friends fast.
